How can a parenting plan be enforced?

If problems arise, go to the person (mediator, counsellor, lawyer) who you specified in your plan as someone who could help. Both parents will go together with the intent of working out the problem. If that doesn’t work, parents can discuss the problem with a lawyer and/or use Family Justice Services or the court to require the other parent to stick to the plan that is in place. Sometimes the court will make an order that requires the parent(s) who is not complying to follow the plan, will request more information or an evaluation of the issue, or will require the parent(s) to give time or money as payback for what was not given in accordance with the plan.
